The game was popularized by early Nokia mobile phones, whose display was also a single-color display only. Over time, the game was adapted for other platforms, specifically for personal computers, and was later seen in many browser games.
Since then, game developers have created a variety of snake games and the style of these games has changed drastically. Game mechanics have also changed significantly to support an already large multiplayer world. However, the main purpose of the game has remained the same, the player controls a snake and collects food (or other items), and the snake has to avoid colliding with its tail, walls and other snakes.
As the snake eats, it grows longer. The player controls the direction of the snake's head for which there are 4 options: up, down, left, right. The snake's tail moves towards the head. Also, you cannot stop the snake move.
At first glance, you might think that this game is very simple, but after enough time, it will be clear that a snake cannot grow forever. Perhaps this is the main reason for the popularity of this game.
